Guidelines

Standing rules the agents follow on every run, set once for the whole organization or for one brand.

Guidelines are the rules you would otherwise repeat in every brief. Write them once and every agent reads them on every run: the Brand Profiler, the five research analysts, the four strategists, and the media planners.

What it does

The page holds two sets of rules.

Organization guidelines apply to every brand in the organization. Use them for house rules: "Always allocate 10% of media budget to experimental channels", "Always benchmark against at least two competitors in research".

Brand guidelines apply to one brand only. Use them for the things that are true of that client and no other: "Never target audiences under 21", "Position this brand as premium and never lead with price discounts".

When rules conflict, brand guidelines win over organization guidelines, and both win over anything in a campaign brief or an attached document. So a brand rule that says "never use Performance Max" holds even if an attached agency framework recommends it.

Where to find it

Click your organization's name at the top of the sidebar, then select Guidelines under Configuration. Owners, Admins, and Members can open the page. Guests cannot.

How it works

  1. 01

    Write the organization rules

Type your rules into the Organization guidelines box, one per line or as short paragraphs, and click Save. A toast confirms the update. Only Owners and Admins can save here; Members see the text but cannot change it.

  2. 02

Pick a brand and write its rules

In the Brand guidelines card, choose a brand from the picker. It defaults to the brand selected elsewhere in the app and lists only brands you can access. Type the rules for that brand and click Save. Anyone with Admin or Standard access to the brand can save here; Viewers cannot.

  3. 03

    Run anything

From the next run onward, every agent reads both sets of rules before it reads your brief, your research, or your documents. There is nothing to attach or select per run.

Limits and considerations

  • 2,000 characters per box. That is roughly 300 words each for organization and brand guidelines. Keep rules short and directive; the agents follow instructions better than they follow essays.
  • Guidelines steer, they do not verify. A rule like "always cite two competitors" changes what the agents aim for. Check the output the same way you would without it.
  • Brand guidelines need a brand. In an organization with no brands yet, the brand card shows a placeholder until the first brand is created.
  • No history. Saving replaces the previous text. Keep a copy elsewhere if you want to roll back.
